Attix's Attic

Building my dream craft room

First blog post ever!

on April 27, 2014

So the attic of our new house is the perfect size for two extra rooms: one for me and one for my husband. I’ll get a craft room at the end of it all and he’ll get a train room. But I only want to talk about the craft room. I’ve been without one for almost two years (I had to pack mine up when we put our old house on the market), and I’m going a bit crazy digging through boxes whenever I need paper or the trimmer or the Cuttlebug or adhesives. And I CAN’T find my clear stamps. Sigh.

My husband (hereinafter known as ‘the contractor’) is doing all the labor; I’m the designer and the decider. LOL.

So far, all of the work has been in the train room, which needed framing; the builder framed my room (not as a favor to me — it just worked out that way). But the HVAC guys have put in all the duct work, so I figured it was time to start the diary.

I’m hoping to be back here once a week. Stay tuned!

This is the view looking back toward the stairs. See the alcove with the nice big window? That's where my sewing machine will go.
